Child Development

• Children grow at different rates.

• The 1997 reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) required that students with disabilities be include in the state and district-wide assessment programs.

• Conduct Growth and Developmental Assessment regularly.
• Refer concerns about growth to parents to seek medical advice.
• Work with the local public schools to ease the transition from Pre-kindergarten to Kindergarten.
