Water Temperature Unchecked

 FAST FACTS 
  • The skin of young children is thin and easily burned.
  • Each year several thousand children and adults are burned by water that is too hot.
  • Children under 5 are at the highest risk for burns caused by hot fluids.
  • A temperature of 120° F at the tap provides sufficient hot water for normal household activities.
  • Infants and children should not be bathed in water above 100° F.
  • Provide education to parents and guardians.
  • Check water temperature of Daycare Center.
  • Turn on cold water first and turn off hot water first.
  • Purchase a water thermometer
